Krisztus után 500 és 1000 között volt a tavon egy őrzött lakóhely, ott ahol most a fák körben találhatók. Ezeket a mesterséges szigeteket “ crannog”-nak hívták.

           

                    This is a model of a 'crannog'.

 There was a competition to see who could hold their hand longest in the icy water.
