Burren Outdoor Education Centre

Fifth class went for three days to the Burren. This group went caving.

One of the walks up Abbey Hill ended at Corcomroe Abbey

The rock faces were excellent for rock climbing and abseiling.

The guides explained the unique nature of Burren.

The rock climbing was done in a valley called a polje.

The limestone pavement has been transformed by erosion.

The instructor explained how the grykes and clints were formed.

The walk up Moneen Hill was strenous.

The polje was once a cave but the roof collapsed by water erosion.

It was an ideal time to see the unique plants and flowers.
